About a Film: No Tears for the Dead (2014)

After The Man From Nowhere, Lee Jeong-Beom made another movie. This is it, No Tears for the Dead which also "a stranger" helps "a stranger". Well, not quite a stranger, Tae-Sik Cha (Won Bin) knew So-Mi Jeong (Kim Sae-Ron) a bit, but still Won Bin is "the man from nowhere". And now, Gon (Jang Dong-Gun) is also "the man from nowhere" who helps another stranger. Funny thing in here, I can't help to think that after saving the child in The Man From Nowhere, Lee Jeong-Beom wants to save the mother in No Tears for The Dead because the story is pretty similar. It seems he had a romantic idea about 'terminator man' protecting innocent people from the misfortune/bad surroundings.

About the cast. Actually, it's a bit weird for me to see Jang Dong-Gun as a bad man, even as an assassin because he always be the good guy in my dictionary. Okay, he's the good guy, in the end; but seeing him as an assassin is a big no-no. Yet, he might express an assassin in a good way, he's just not the right assassin-guy for me. And Kim Min-Hee, idk. I don't feel like anything special. She's just another heart-broken woman who lost her child. Then, I feel so excited to see Brian Tee in here. He's the bad guy in Tokyo Drift and he's appeared in the different style here. I almost think that he's Tadanobu Asano because he looks like him. The movie also has some foreign actors which make me think that Lee Jeong-Beom might want to make it as internasional as it can be by hiring them. Or just to make the 'assassin-vibe' is stronger than only having Korean assassin.

Well, the movie? I enjoy the movie, not as much as The Man From Nowhere, but yeah, it's an okay. Although it's a bit disappointing to compare it with The Man From Nowhere. The movie turns out to be an usual action thriller with no special feeling attached to it, for me. I don't know what is lack in the movie, but I have a feeling that the movie can a better one than this one. Good fighting scenes, anyway

(not a trailer, but a teaser can also be a good start, right?)
