Yeah, right. "A mother should look out for her sons" is the best tagline for the movie. This is the first time I saw an Austrian horror film and it left me a good impression. Just look at the poster, it's pretty creepy right? and wait until you see the trailer. It's a good trailer. I mean it, it's good. The trailer is the one which makes me want to see the film, anyway. Now, for the movie, Goodnight Mommy build the intense atmosphere by only portraying few character. It's kinda "lonely" movie. Generally, the story of the film is about a severe relationship between a mother and her twins. Also. a twist to make everything's interesting. Well, it's not hard to figure the twist since I've watched the movie with almost-similar plot, but still, it's pretty enjoyable for me.
One thing that I should warned for the people who want to watch this movie is this is not your "usual" movie. This movie left you with some unsaid scene which you have to figure it by yourself or you have to imagine it by yourself. In fact, I've recommended this movie for several people and some of them can't understand well what happened within the movie. For me, who's accustomed of watching twist movies, this movie is pretty easy to understand, Yet, for the other people who doesn't, it will make the people confused and they can't enjoy the film much. That's what I've experienced, having some people saw me with questionable expression and saying that they don't know what the movie is about, However, I still believe that the movie can be a good experience for the people who haven't watched film with a good twist. It's a pretty easy to swallow the twist, imo.
(Like I said before, it's a good trailer)
